Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking a JSE Lead API Developer to advance government simulation standards and integration for the Joint Simulation Environment. You will implement, test, and verify JSE/SCARS interfaces across FlightSafety training devices, using the GRID network protocol and the GSI SDK.

You will collaborate with architects and project leads, contribute to SCARS compliance, DevSecOps processes, and RMF activities, and may travel for government test events. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (CS/EE/Aerospace) or closely related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in simulation software development or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for simulation software development.
• Familiarity with distributed simulation protocols (HLA/DIS/TENA) and API-driven architectures.
• Experience with ICDs/IDDs or similar specs.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to translate standards into software implementations and write test/compliance docs.
• MBSE methodologies or SysML tooling experience (e.g., Cameo) is a plus.
• Experience with virtualization and containerized deployment.
• Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate software components that connect FlightSafety training devices to JSE via GRID.
• Implement message production/consumption using the GSI SDK and verify against the ICD.
• Run GSI test harness service tests and analyze data with Wireshark.
• Support SCARS compliance activities, including RMF and security controls.
• Contribute to JSE/SCARS lab operations, DevSecOps, and documentation per standards.
• Travel to government test events as needed.
