Job summary

FlightSafety Defense Corporation is seeking a JSE Lead API Developer to implement, test, and verify JSE/SCARS-compliant software across FlightSafety's WST and Training Systems. You will work under the JSE Architect and Project Lead to connect devices to GRID using the GSI SDK and ensure ICD/IDD compliance in a federated simulation environment.

The role requires a BS in CS/engineering, 4–8 years in simulation or DoD contexts, C++ and Python proficiency, ICD/IDD experience, GitLab/JIRA/CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or closely related technical discipline.
• 4–8 years in simulation software development, system integration, or distributed systems engineering, preferably in a DoD context.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for simulation software development and integration.
• Familiarity with HLA, DIS, or TENA and middleware such as EMQX, DDS or Apache Kafka.
• Experience with ICDs/IDDs and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab, JIRA, and CI/CD environments.
• Strong ability to translate requirements into software implementations and write test/compliance artifacts.
• Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate software components that connect FlightSafety training devices to the JSE via GRID.
• Implement message production/consumption using the GSI SDK and verify against ICDs.
• Run GSI test harness tests and support Wireshark data validation.
• Support SCARS compliance, including On Premise Equipment integration standards.
• Contribute to verification activities for aerodynamic models and traceability docs.
• Participate in lab integration efforts, DevSecOps, and RMF compliance activities.
• Collaborate with JSE/SCARS architects and document results.
• Travel to government test events throughout the year.
