Eliassen Group is seeking a Backend Engineer (contract) to design, develop, and maintain server-side applications. You will work on scalable APIs using Java, Spring, and AWS, and participate in deployment and monitoring in cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has 1–4 years of backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and SQL. You will join cross-functional teams, emphasize code quality, security, and observability, and contribute to delivering reliable services for clients.

Qualifications

• 1 to 4 years of backend development experience with Java.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Experience designing APIs, working with relational databases, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring.
• Develop, deploy, and operate services on AWS with best practices.
• Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements.
• Implement security, logging, and observability standards.
