Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Backend Engineer for a remote contract role. You will design and maintain server-side applications using Java, Spring, and AWS, building scalable RESTful APIs and services.

The position requires 1 to 4 years of backend experience, emphasizes code quality, security, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. W2 benefits are provided, including medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $78.00 to $88.00/hr on a W2 basis. Eligible for benefits.

Qualifications

1–4 years of professional backend development with Java.
Hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot.
Experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS.
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Experience with API design, versioning, and documentation.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and source control workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring.
Develop, deploy, and operate services on AWS using managed services and infrastructure best practices.
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with unit and integration tests.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver features.
Implement security, logging, and observability standards.
