Eliassen Group is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain server-side applications using Java, Spring, and AWS. The role focuses on developing scalable APIs and services, deploying in cloud environments, and maintaining code quality and security.

The position is remote on a W2 basis, with a strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and life insurance. Rate ranges from $78.00 to $88.00 per hour on a W2 contract.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of backend development with Java.
• Hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot.
• Experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with API design, versioning, and documentation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and source control workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring.
• Develop, deploy, and operate services on AWS using managed services and infrastructure best practices.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with unit and integration tests.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver features.
• Implement security, logging, and observability standards.
