Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Backend Engineer for a remote contract role. You will design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring, while deploying on AWS and ensuring security, observability, and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years of backend experience, proficiency with SQL relational databases, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and API documentation. W2 benefits are available for eligible consultants.

Qualifications

• 1 to 4 years of backend development experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot.
• Experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with API design, versioning, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring.
• Develop, deploy, and operate services on AWS using managed services and infrastructure best practices.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with unit and integration tests.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver features.
• Implement security, logging, and observability standards.
