Careerscape is recruiting for a Remote IT Support Specialist based in the Austin, Texas area. This role offers an entry path into IT with hands-on exposure to modern tools and a clear path toward systems administration, security, or cloud roles.

The daily work involves handling support tickets, guiding colleagues through fixes over chat or video, and setting up devices and accounts. Strong communication and independence are valued in this fully remote position.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred.
• 6+ months of help desk, IT internship, or technical support experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar cloud tools.

Mansioni

• Respond to help desk tickets, chat, and phone requests from employees in a timely, friendly manner.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues remotely.
• Set up, configure, and ship laptops and peripherals for new hires.
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and password resets in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Install, update, and troubleshoot applications and operating systems on Windows and macOS.
• Support VPN, multi‑factor authentication, and secure remote access for distributed staff.
• Document issues, solutions, and procedures in the ticketing system and knowledge base.
• Escalate complex problems to senior engineers with clear notes and context.
• Help maintain an accurate inventory of company devices and licenses.
• Follow security best practices and flag potential phishing or policy concerns.
