Specialty1 Partners is seeking an IT Support Engineer for the Southern California region to help build, maintain, and troubleshoot our expanding infrastructure. You will join a talented team delivering mission critical systems with high availability, performance, and security.

Requirements include a BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering and proven UNIX/Linux experience, plus hands-on monitoring of systems. This role offers remote modality with regional travel.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux.
• Experience with monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Southern California region with frequent travel to locations.
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems and tools.
• Proactively ensure high levels of availability, security and performance.
• Monitor application performance and collaborate with developers to fix bottlenecks.
• Maintain security, backups and redundancy strategies.
• Write scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level IT support and liaise with vendors.
