Job summary

Specialty1 Partners is seeking an IT Support Engineer to build, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure across the Southern California region. The role involves travel to assigned locations and delivering high-availability systems with security and performance as top priorities.

You will join a team of engineers with strong technical competency and work closely with developers to address bottlenecks and implement fixes.

Qualifications

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject.
Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux environments.
Experience with monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

Oversee the Southern California region including frequent travel to assigned locations.
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify fixes with developers.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce human intervention time.
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
Liaise with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution.
