Specialty1 Partners seeks an IT Support Engineer to help build, maintain, and troubleshoot our expanding infrastructure. You will join a skilled team delivering mission-critical systems with top availability and security across the Southern California region.

Remote modality with travel to assigned locations as needed. The role requires a BS/MS in CS/Engineering and hands-on UNIX/Linux administration plus monitoring expertise; you will implement security, backups, and automation scripts to

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments.
• Experience with monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Southern California region, including frequent travel to assigned locations.
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks and coordinate fixes with developers.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Liaise with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution.
