UMC Health System is seeking an IT Software Developer – Associate to design, develop, test, and maintain software systems that meet client requirements. The role supports both clinical and non-clinical departments, collaborating with IT teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (bachelor’s preferred), 4+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with ITIL practices. Strong communication, analysis, and programming skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Display aptitude in applying programming techniques to solve business needs.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem solving/resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions when appropriate.
  • Analyze new programming requests and develop software solutions with minimal assistance.
  • Responsible for developing solutions to programming requests approved by IT Steering Committee and IT management.
  • Route all changes to the production environment through the IT change control process.
  • Confirm project requirements by reviewing the client’s user story and desired output while ensuring that the design and build are completed successfully, clearly documented and tested while leveraging best practices.
  • Field incoming tickets and work to resolve issues, or if unable to resolve issue, escalate appropriately.
  • Communicates status updates of tasks, project plans, risk points and milestones to appropriate team members and management in a meaningful and timely fashion.
