Job summary

ERMCO is seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist to create and govern IT and OT documentation, ensuring standards, runbooks, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity documentation are accurate and accessible.

You will collaborate with Network Operations, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Engineering, Service Management, and Manufacturing Technology teams to translate complex concepts into clear documentation. The role is remote across designated US states with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of technical writing experience.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Visio, and Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Documentation Governance: Develop and maintain documentation standards across IT and OT; Create templates for policies, standards, procedures, work instructions, and architecture documents; Ensure document version control and approval workflows; Conduct periodic reviews of documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Infrastructure Documentation: Document network architectures, topology diagrams, IP allocation standards, and connectivity models; Maintain infrastructure inventory documentation; Create deployment guides and implementation playbooks; Document cloud, server, firewall, wireless, and OT connectivity solutions.
• Operational Documentation: Create SOPs; Develop incident response runbooks; Document change management procedures; Produce disaster recovery and business continuity documentation.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance: Support documentation of cybersecurity controls and requirements; Maintain documentation aligned to NIST, Purdue, ISA/IEC 62443, and company standards; Assist with audit evidence collection and compliance reporting.
• Project Documentation: Develop project technical specifications; Produce installation guides and cutover plans; Create training materials and knowledge transfer documents; Support lessons learned and post-implementation reviews.
• Knowledge Management: Manage SharePoint documentation repositories; Establish document taxonomies and searchability standards; Improve accessibility and usability of technical information; Develop onboarding documentation for infrastructure personnel.
