Job summary

California Institute of Applied Technology (CIAT) is seeking an IT Certification Bootcamp Instructor to deliver synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams, with evening and weekend teaching based from a home setup in California.

The role requires current certifications (e.g., CompTIA, ISC2, AWS or Microsoft) and experience designing engaging lessons, aligning materials to adult learner standards, and ensuring certification readiness.

Qualifications

Appropriate certification in CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 CISSP or AWS/Microsoft cloud certifications.
Minimum of one year of experience in a training setting, ideally delivering IT certification bootcamps.
Experience with curriculum development and instructional design for IT certification bootcamps.
Strong presentation and online teaching skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and learning platforms such as Canvas.

Responsibilities

Available to teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams.
Flexibility to teach in the evenings and weekends, based on the course schedule.
Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement.
Ensure alignment of instructional strategies with CIAT’s adult learner framework, certification readiness.
Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
Employ effective teaching strategies to communicate subject matter online.
