Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks an IT Category Manager to lead strategic procurement for IT suppliers and services. This role will drive category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and work across IT and business teams to optimize spend and governance.

The position is 100% remote with an East Coast schedule (8am–5pm). Qualifications include 7+ years in IT procurement, a strong IT market knowledge, and formal negotiation and SOW experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Supply Management, Economics, CS or IS.
• 7+ years in Supply Management, Procurement or IT business office roles.
• Experience overseeing IT services and suppliers; strong IT market knowledge.
• Negotiation skills for pay-for-performance and risk-sharing agreements.
• Ability to lead cross-functional meetings and deliver clear presentations.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration and influence skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sr. Director and IT teams to align IT and procurement priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of suppliers, renewals, and third-party risk.
• Develop relationships with clients, understand procurement needs and timelines.
• Lead category strategies to control costs and ensure supply continuity.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and renewals with internal partners.
• Guide statements of work and ordering documents to ensure project success.
• Mitigate third-party risk with internal partners from legal, risk, and IT.
