Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an IT Category Manager to lead procurement strategy for IT services and suppliers across the United States. The role requires collaboration with IT leadership and business clients to optimize spend and governance.

The position is remote with an East Coast schedule (8am–5pm) and daily video presence for meetings. You will manage supplier relationships, renewals, and third-party risk, and drive category strategies while aligning with risk and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Management, Economics, Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Supply Management, Procurement, or IT Business Office roles.
• Experience with IT services and IT suppliers.
• Strong working knowledge of IT marketplace and industry norms.
• Experience with IT SOWs and managed services agreements.
• Adept negotiation skills with pay-for-performance and shared risk.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Sr. Director and IT Strategic Procurement to align demands with IT and business priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of suppliers including agreements, renewals, and risk management.
• Develop relationships with clients to understand procurement needs and timelines.
• Lead category strategies to control costs and ensure supply continuity.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and renewals with internal partners.
• Negotiate SOWs and ordering documents with clients and suppliers to add value.
