Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an IT Category Manager to lead strategic procurement for IT services and suppliers. This role is remote with an East Coast schedule, requiring strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration to optimize spend and manage risk.

You will partner with IT leadership and business clients to develop category strategies, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliant, timely sourcing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Management, Economics, Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 7+ years in Supply Management, Procurement, or IT Business Office roles responsible for IT supplier or category management.
• Information Technology experience overseeing IT services and suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of the IT marketplace and industry norms.
• Experience with statements of work and managed services agreements.
• Adept negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with IT leadership to align procurement with IT and business client priorities.
• Manage supplier portfolios, renewals, and third-party risk management activities.
• Develop and implement category strategies to control costs and ensure supply continuity.
• Lead negotiations of supplier agreements and renewals with internal partners.
• Create statements of work and ordering documents with clients to add value.
• Participate in risk management, governance, and SOX-like controls.
• Support diversity goals and procurement process improvements.
