Job summary

RCG, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time IT Business Analyst / System Tester to support the Office of Sustainable Fisheries. The role blends business analysis with hands-on testing, including requirements gathering, workflow development, and UAT coordination.

Approximately 90% remote work with about 10% on-site participation in the DC metro region. You will work with stakeholders to evaluate processes, define system requirements, and document test plans and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, MIS or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related field.
• Experience analyzing complex IT problems and identifying practical solutions.
• Experience developing requirements, workflow maps, use cases, and test documentation.
• Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current business systems and processes and recommend improvements.
• Analyze requirements and translate needs into system requirements and designs.
• Gather requirements via interviews and reviews of project documents.
• Map data flows and develop system specs, wireframes, and user stories.
• Create workflow diagrams, data management plans, and traceability matrices.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts; coordinate UAT.
• Document procedures and support release management and reporting.
