Job summary

Washington State Department of Ecology is seeking a Journey-level IT Business Analyst in the ITSO. The role connects program needs with technical solutions, translating complex processes into actionable specifications and documentation.

You will gather requirements, map workflows, analyze data, and support Agile delivery while working with program staff, IT teams, and project managers. Telework is allowed with some in-person meetings near Lacey, WA.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience and/or education related to the duties of the position.
• Experience in requirements analysis, documentation, and testing.
• Experience applying SDLC and Agile methodologies to projects.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for new or enhanced systems.
• Align improvements with agency goals and consult with staff and partners.
• Create process maps, workflows, and user stories for Agile delivery.
• Evaluate system functionality, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Develop clear documentation including user stories and system guides.
• Develop test plans to ensure solutions meet business needs.
