Job summary

LifePoint Health's IRF Coding Team is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist – IRF to join our fully remote team. You will code IRF records using current ICD versions and adhere to supervisor timelines.

Minimum two years’ inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding experience (UB04 and IRF PAI) and RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/CPC/CIC certification required. Excellent English communication and advanced computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• RHIT or RHIA or AHIMA/CPC/CIC certification required.
• CPC or CIC certification by AAPC acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Code IRF records using current ICD coding and within supervisor timelines.
• Maintain coding schedule as assigned by the Area Director.
• Assign Impariment Code for admissions with PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager.
• Transmit IRF PAIs for Medicare inpatients as back-up.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and policies.
• Participate in continuing education and annual safety requirements.
