Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist - IRF to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. You will code IRF records using the current ICD version, adhere to deadlines, and collaborate with PPS coordination to assign impairment codes.

The role requires at least two years' inpatient rehab coding experience, RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/CPC/CIC certification, and strong HIPAA knowledge and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Certification in IRF or inpatient coding (RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/CPC/CIC) is required.
• Minimum two years' inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding experience (UB04/IRF PAI).

Responsibilities

• Code IRF records remotely using current ICD version within supervisor timelines.
• Maintain assigned coding schedule with Area Director.
• Collaborate with PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager on impairment codes and new diagnoses.
• Back-up for hospital to transmit IRF PAIs to Medicare inpatients.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and complete training requirements.
