Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist – IRF to join our fully remote IRF Coding Team. You will code IRF records remotely, adhere to assigned schedules, and collaborate with PPS coordinators to assign impairment codes for admissions.

Required certifications (RHIT, RHIA or CPC/CIC) and at least two years of inpatient rehabilitation coding experience are essential. You will operate within HIPAA guidelines and our code of conduct, contributing to a high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• Certifications: RHIT, RHIA or coding certification (CCA, CCS) by AHIMA or CPC/CIC by AAPC required.
• Experience: Minimum two years’ current experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding (UB04 and IRF PAI).

Responsibilities

• Code IRF records remotely using current ICD coding version within supervisor-defined timeframes.
• Maintain coding schedule as assigned by the Area Director.
• Collaborate with PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager for impairment codes and new diagnoses.
• Back-up for hospital to transmit IRF PAIs for Medicare inpatients in a timely manner.
