Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a qualified medical coder specialized in Outpatient Interventional Radiology to assign CPT/ICD-10 codes and review charts for accuracy. The role requires AHIMA/AAPC certification and 2+ years of IR coding experience.

You will work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., with a focus on coding quality and productivity, adherence to policy, and ongoing education via QM and Coding/Ops leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA/AAPC coder certification required (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A).
• 2+ years outpatient facility interventional radiology coding experience.
• 2+ years ICD-10 experience.
• Proficient with Windows PC, Excel, and EMR systems.
• Ability to work 40 hours/week, with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Identify assignment of CPT and ICD-10 codes for outpatient acute interventional radiology services.
• Analyze/correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits.
• Understand APC codes and abstract data during chart review.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
