Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking an InterSystems IRIS Developer for a fully remote role supporting a federal healthcare modernization project. You will design, develop, and sustain IRIS/Caché solutions, focusing on data migration from VistA to Oracle Health and creating robust APIs and integrations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years with Caché/IRIS and 3+ years ObjectScript, with strong REST API design and experience in Agile/DevOps environments. US residency required; no sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using InterSystems Caché and/or InterSystems IRIS.
• 3+ years of hands-on ObjectScript development experience with IRIS classes, globals, SQL, and data-access patterns.
• Experience designing REST APIs, web services, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software in production, including Agile/DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, deploy, and sustain enterprise applications using InterSystems IRIS/Caché and ObjectScript, including VX130 data extraction and migration to Oracle Health.
• Analyze VistA data structures and develop database classes, tables, routines, and automation solutions.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, web services, and system integrations.
• Perform testing, troubleshoot defects, optimize performance, and support high-availability and production sustainment.
• Develop secure, maintainable code with documentation and CI/CD practices using GitHub/Azure DevOps/Jenkins.
• Support deployments, upgrades, incident resolution, platform modernization, containerization, automation, and observability.
