Job summary

VetsEZ is recruiting an experienced InterSystems IRIS/Caché Database Administrator for a 100% remote role supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project with VA DMM and EHRM integrations.

The DBA will manage administration, upgrade, backup/recovery, replication, and sustainment across Development to Production in a fast-paced environment, with potential after-hours support and site-conversion readiness. Applicants must reside in the continental United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 5+ years of hands-on database administration experience, including significant experience with InterSystems Caché and/or InterSystems IRIS.
Hands-on experience with database operations, configuration, troubleshooting, system design, performance tuning, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and high-availability environments.
Experience administering and troubleshooting InterSystems IRIS Mirror and/or Caché/IRIS replication technologies.
Practical Linux administration experience, Windows Server experience, and formal change, configuration, incident, and problem-management practices.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex database, platform, and operational issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced operations environment.

Responsibilities

Administer, sustain, configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot InterSystems IRIS and Caché environments across Development, Test, Staging, and Production.
Monitor IRIS Mirror, VistA Shadow, Journal Readers, Data Filers, and transmissions to Oracle Health; manage high-availability storage and backups.
Plan capacity, tune performance, and optimize configurations to maintain availability and reliability as environments evolve.
Execute backup and recovery activities; perform recurring recovery testing and document issues.
Support InterSystems IRIS on Linux across bare-metal, VMs, and containers; coordinate cross-functional resolution.
Maintain documentation for configuration, operations, backups, changes, and site-conversion readiness.
Take on additional tasks to support team objectives and project success.
