Ethan Allen is expanding its Design Consultants team in Peoria, IL. The role involves creating customized design solutions, selling products and services, and representing the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions.

Consultants work in the design center, remotely, online, or in-home, with a compensation plan based on commissions and performance. Successful candidates will combine interior design expertise with sale skills, social media savvy, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant design experience.
• At least 1 year interior design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in design-related field desirable.
• Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
• Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
• Excellent listening and written/oral communication skills.
• Social media and grass-roots marketing to develop a book of business.
• Valid driver’s license; access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Create design solutions aligned with the customer’s budgets and preferences.
• Sell Ethan Allen products and services.
• Represent the brand in all customer interactions and set appointments; make home calls to evaluate needs and close sales.
• Use social media to grow the business.
• Educate customers about the complimentary design service offered by Ethan Allen.
• Stay current on design trends for fashionable solutions.
• Coordinate with the team to maintain order status and service before/after sale.
• Participate in corporate marketing and training programs.
• Educate customers on financing options available.
• Contribute to portfolio maintenance and design center upkeep.
• Utilize CRM and design technology to present projects and services.
• Enter orders in the retail POS system.
• Maintain a neat and orderly design center.
• Develop business and grassroots plans with leadership and monitor results.
