Job summary

Ethan Allen Design Center seeks a Design Consultant to work with customers in the design center, remotely, online or in the customer’s home to craft individualized design solutions that sell Ethan Allen products and services. The roles involve space planning, fabric coordination, product selection and overall project design.

Design Consultants are compensated based on commissions within the incentive plan, with minimum monthly sales benchmarks and a recoverable draw.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field (desirable).
• Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• Create design solutions that fit the customer’s preference and budget.
• Sell Ethan Allen products and services.
• Greet customers in the design center, establish rapport and secure appointments.
• Use social media to grow the business.
• Educate customers on complimentary design services.
• Stay current on design trends to craft fashionable solutions.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure service before and after sale.
• Enter orders using the retail POS system.
• Develop grass roots marketing plans with leadership to expand market reach.
