Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an Integration Analyst/Engineer to support the VIPPS integration and data migration efforts for a VA enterprise system. The role blends analysis and technical work, focusing on data profiling, mapping, cleansing, and validation across legacy to modern platforms.

The successful candidate will work with API developers and SMEs to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient integrations, with responsibilities spanning testing, deployment, and sustainment in a remote, US-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting systems integration, data analysis, data migration/conversion, API/interface development or related technical implementation activities.
• Strong data and systems analysis skills.
• Be able to analyze source and target systems, understand existing data structures and business rules, develop source-to-target mappings.
• Background with APIs; should understand REST APIs and enterprise integration concepts;
• Be comfortable working with SQL, data mapping, JSON/XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, interface specifications, error/exception handling, and data-quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of the VIPPS solution.
• Collaborate with the Data Integration Lead, API/Integration Developers, and SMEs to design and build system integrations that meet enterprise requirements.
• Perform data migration activities including profiling, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and migration testing for legacy‑to‑modern system transitions.
• Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, business rules, and integration requirements while developing accurate source‑to‑target data mappings.
• Assist in API and interface development using REST, JSON/XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, SQL, and related integration technologies.
• Support integration and API testing efforts by designing and executing test cases, validating data exchanges, and contributing to reusable automated testing frameworks as appropriate.
• Troubleshoot integration and data‑exchange issues, resolving data‑quality concerns, interface errors, and exception‑handling problems.
• Document integration processes, mappings, test results, and technical specifications to support ongoing sustainment and knowledge transfer across teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of integration processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance system reliability, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure integration activities align with security, compliance, and Suitability/Public Trust clearance requirements.
