Actalent is hiring an Insurance Verification Coordinator in Phoenix to verify insurance eligibility, manage benefits, and complete prior authorizations for medications and services. You will support patients, providers, and payors with accurate information and maintain detailed documentation.

The role requires medical billing or verification experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle a high-volume referral workload.

Qualifications

• 1 year medical billing or insurance verification experience or a related bachelor degree as substitute.
• Experience obtaining benefits from health plans and clearly communicating to patients.
• Experience submitting prior authorizations to payors and gathering clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for services and medications with accurate documentation.
• Perform prior authorizations with required documentation in collaboration with physicians and insurance companies.
• Record clinical information to support coverage decisions and authorizations.
• Determine patient financial responsibility including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.
• Maintain coordination of benefits for referrals to ensure correct billing.
• Ensure Medicare assignments of benefits per payor requirements.
• Communicate with insurers about therapies, coverage issues, and claims.
• Document communications with patients, physicians, and payors.
• Identify patient financial assistance programs and resources.
• Handle inbound caller inquiries and provide clear information.
• Research and resolve claim rejections; escalate as needed.
• Process high volume referrals daily with accuracy and timeliness.
• Meet performance metrics and maintain reliability.
