Actalent is seeking an Insurance Verification Coordinator to verify eligibility and benefits, process prior authorizations, and support patients, providers, and payors for timely therapy access. You will handle high-volume referrals and maintain detailed documentation in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year medical billing or insurance verification experience, with strong communication and data-entry skills.

Qualificações

• Minimum 1 year in medical billing or insurance verification, or a related bachelor's degree can substitute for experience.
• Experience obtaining benefits directly from health plans and communicating them to patients.
• Experience submitting prior authorizations to payors with required documentation.
• Knowledge of verification, benefit verification, and coordination of benefits processes.
• Familiarity with Medicare and commercial plans and working with multiple payors.

Responsabilidades

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and document information in the system.
• Perform prior authorizations and gather required documentation from physician offices and insurers.
• Collect and record clinical data like lab values and diagnosis codes for coverage decisions.
• Determine patient financial responsibility including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.
• Coordinate benefits for referrals to ensure correct primary/secondary billing.
• Communicate with insurance companies about therapies, coverage, and claims questions.
• Document all communications with patients, doctors, and payors related to reimbursement.
• Identify patient financial assistance resources and programs where applicable.
• Handle inbound calls providing accurate information to patients, offices, and insurers.
• Research and resolve claim rejections related to eligibility and coverage.
