Actalent is seeking an Insurance Verification Coordinator for a remote contract-to-hire role serving the Reno, NV area. You will verify insurance eligibility and benefits, prepare prior authorizations, and support patients, providers, and payors to ensure accurate coverage and timely access to prescribed therapies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in medical billing or insurance verification or a related bachelor’s degree substitute.
• Experience obtaining benefits directly from health plans and communicating them to patients.
• Experience submitting prior authorizations to payors with supporting docs.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for services and medications; document in system.
• Submit prior authorizations with necessary clinical documentation in coordination with offices.
• Collect and record lab values and diagnosis codes to support coverage decisions.
• Identify patient financial responsibility including copays and deductibles.
• Coordinate benefits for referrals and ensure correct billing for primary/secondary plans.
• Ensure Medicare ABNs and benefit assignments are on file as required.
• Communicate with insurers about therapies, coverage issues, and claims questions.
• Document all communications with patients, providers, and payors; maintain accuracy.
• Identify financial assistance resources (copay cards, assistance programs).
• Handle inbound calls with clear, courteous information and follow up as needed.
• Research and resolve claim rejections; escalate when appropriate.
• Process high volumes from an internal queue; maintain accuracy and timeliness.
• Strive to meet performance metrics and maintain reliable attendance.
