Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Insurance Verification Coordinator to verify eligibility and benefits, complete prior authorizations, and support patients, providers, and payors for timely access to prescribed therapies.

Responsibilities include documenting information, coordinating benefits, and communicating with payors; the role requires attention to detail and high-volume, accurate processing in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of medical billing or insurance verification experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related field substituted for experience.
• Experience obtaining insurance benefits directly from health plans and communicating those benefits to patients.
• Experience submitting prior authorizations directly to payors, including gathering clinical documentation and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify insurance eligibility and benefits; document information in the system.
• Submit prior authorizations with required documentation; coordinate with physician offices and payors.
• Collect and record clinical information to support coverage decisions.
• Determine patient financial responsibility based on coverage (copays, coinsurance, deductibles).
• Maintain coordination of benefits on referrals for correct billing.
• Ensure Medicare assignments of benefits are obtained per payor requirements.
• Communicate with insurance companies about therapies, coverage, and claims questions.
• Document all communications with patients, providers, and payors for reimbursement purposes.
• Identify patient financial assistance resources and programs.
• Handle high-volume referrals daily with accuracy and timeliness.
• Investigate and resolve claim rejections related to eligibility and coverage.
