Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Referral Representative to process insurance pre-authorizations for primary and specialty visits. You will gather patient and provider data, verify coverage, and act as a liaison between clinical staff, health plans and patients to obtain approvals.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals and maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
• Route referrals per department requirements and ensure completeness of information.
• Coordinate with patients, clinics and insurers to obtain prior authorizations.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain approvals and explain patient needs.
• Collaborate with Patient Service Representatives and Clinical Staff for pre-registration and pre-visit prep.
• Enter and retrieve data per department protocols for reporting.
