Encova Insurance is offering a full-time summer internship for 2027 in a hybrid/remote-friendly setup. The program requires 60 credit hours completed and enrollment status with the ability to work 40 hours per week.

The internship includes real-world claim handling experience and interaction with customers, leaders, and internal teams, focusing on reporting, coverage interpretation, and onboarding support.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
• 40 hours per week availability for a full-time summer internship.
• Excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
• Ability to work as a team member and meet established standards.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• One-year prior full-time experience in customer service or claims intake preferred.
• Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive initial claim information from customers via phone, email, or fax.
• Provide information on loss reporting options to customers.
• Determine applicable policy coverage for loss.
• Assist leadership in onboarding new associates.
• Analyze claim information to determine next steps and information needed.
• Document loss facts in the computer system.
