Sonoran Desert Institute is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our curriculum team for online, distance courses. You will develop engaging, accessible learning content, assessments, and multimedia resources aligned with learning objectives.

The role collaborates with subject matter experts, QA staff, and instructional designers to design and update courses, while leveraging Canvas and other tools to deliver high-quality online education. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional experience in instructional design.
• Minimum of one year of professional instructional design experience at a higher education institution.
• Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and distance instruction.
• Practical experience with learning management systems and course-authoring software.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with ability to independently finish projects on deadline.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and identify objectives.
• Create course and program documentation, blueprints, maps, and design documents.
• Develop course shells, syllabi, modules, and LMS pages using authoring tools.
• Source external media and ensure proper citations.
• Assist QA processes to ensure alignment with objectives.
