Sonoran Desert Institute is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Curriculum Team. The role focuses on creating engaging online courses, updating content, and developing assessments that align with higher education standards.

You will work with subject matter experts, QA staff, and instructional designers to deliver course materials and multimedia resources, using Canvas and related tools. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional experience in instructional design.
• Minimum of one year of professional instructional design experience at a higher education institution.
• Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and distance instruction.
• Experience with learning management systems and course-authoring software.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and objectives.
• Design and develop engaging online course materials and assessments.
• Develop course shells, syllabi, home pages, modules, and lessons in Canvas.
• Source and secure external media with proper attribution.
• Support Academic Quality Assurance processes and continuous improvement.
