Job summary

R.W. Mercer Co. is seeking a skilled Instructional Designer on a full-time contract basis to design learning content for in-person, virtual, or blended delivery.

The role partners with subject matter experts to translate complex topics into engaging instruction and develops assessments and multimedia aligned with standards. You will have 3+ years of experience, a relevant degree, and experience with e-learning tools and LMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, e-learning, or educational program management.
• Proficiency with instructional design models, adult learning theory, and curriculum development methodologies.
• Experience with e-learning authoring tools, multimedia production, and learning management systems (LMS).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with learning analytics or accessibility standards is a plus.
• Certifications such as CPTD or ATD are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop instructional materials, courses, and modules for in-person, virtual, or blended delivery.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex topics into engaging instruction.
• Create assessments, activities, and multimedia to enhance learning.
• Adapt approaches for diverse learning styles and accessibility requirements.
• Review and update learning programs to maintain relevance and quality.
• Monitor course performance using analytics and feedback for improvement.
• Ensure instructional products meet internal quality standards and guidelines.
• Document revisions and development processes.
• Coordinate with project managers to meet deadlines and requirements.
• Support implementation and instructor training as needed.
• Stay current on instructional technologies and trends in corporate training.
• Promote a learner-centric environment focused on continuous improvement.
