Job summary

Signature Performance seeks an Inpatient Professional Fee Medical Coder to review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes, ensuring CMS and payer compliance. You will ensure proper sequencing and accurate billing data entry and support physician queries as needed.

Required: minimum 2 years of medical coding experience, professional fee coding experience, AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC), and familiarity with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Medical Coding experience
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding
• Experience with EHR systems
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications (RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC)

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing medical records and coding documentation.
• Determine diagnoses and procedures treated, monitored, and evaluated; assign appropriate codes.
• Follow Official Coding Guidelines and CMS/insurer regulations for code selection.
• Ensure correct sequencing to determine DRG/APC for accurate reimbursement.
• Abstract data from medical records and ensure data accuracy in systems.
• Identify incomplete or conflicting documentation and request physician clarification.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
