Job summary

Humana is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coding Auditor to review hospital claims, assign DRGs, and ensure proper reimbursement. This remote role supports our nationwide operations with occasional travel to Humana offices for training.

You will analyze records, enter and manipulate data, and respond to internal requests while upholding HIPAA and confidentiality. Strong MS-DRG experience and certifications are required to succeed in our metric-driven environment.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification held for at least 4 years.
• MS-DRG coding/auditing experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting claims.
• Experience in inpatient coding reviews/audits in health insurance or hospital settings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient hospital claims for proper reimbursement.
• Analyze and resolve provider disputes in a metrics-driven environment.
• Maintain and query databases; respond to internal information requests.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignments and coding quality.
