Job summary

Humana seeks an experienced Inpatient Medical Coding Auditor to review inpatient hospital claims for proper reimbursement. This remote role involves DRG assignments, data analysis, and responding to internal requests for information in a metrics-driven environment.

Qualified candidates will have MS-DRG coding/auditing experience, claims interpretation skills, and strong attention to detail. Some travel may be required for training or meetings.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification (one of these) is required or held for at least 4 years.
• Experience reading and interpreting hospital claims is required.
• Inpatient coding reviews/audits experience is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient hospital claims for proper reimbursement.
• Conduct coding audits and ensure correct DRG assignments.
• Enter and analyze data and respond to internal requests for information.
• Follow guidelines and procedures with minimal direction.
