Job summary

UCHealth, Denver-based coding role, assigns diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and PCS. This full-time, 100% remote position supports day shifts and compensates $25.80–$38.70 per hour, with pay based on experience.

Remote eligibility for out-of-state candidates is noted. The role requires AHIMA or AAPC certification and may prefer CCS; expect collaboration with physicians, CDI, and Quality to ensure precise documentation and coding accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Coding-related certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• Preferred: CCS Certification.
• 1 year of inpatient coding experience OR 3 years of outpatient coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews account day after admission and assigns ICD-10 and PCS codes.
• Reviews accounts throughout stay and updates coding as documentation is added.
• Collaborates with physicians, CDI, and Quality to ensure accurate coding and capture quality measures.
• Partners with Compliance to clarify coding issues.
• Maintains and enhances coding knowledge through continuing education and literature review.
