Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS, RHIT, CPC, RHIA) for a remote, full-time role focused on inpatient records. You’ll code using ICD-10-CM/PCS, support accurate billing, and uphold UHDDS standards while collaborating with revenue cycle and clinical teams.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of inpatient coding experience, EPIC proficiency, and a relevant certification; remote work and flexible shifts are offered to promote work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year inpatient medical coding experience
• Proficiency with EPIC EHR system
• Certification in RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H or AHIMA certificate preferred
• Remote work suitability and self-motivation for a remote role

Responsibilities

• Review and code inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS
• Assign and sequence diagnoses and procedures per UHDDS standards
• Apply MS-DRGs and POA indicators as documented
• Ensure accurate discharge dispositions coding
• Initiate physician queries for unclear documentation
• Ensure compliance with coding, billing, and documentation regulations
