Job summary

Jobrapido is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, W2 regular role. Requires 5+ years IP PCS coding and a CCS certificate; 3 years OP coding preferred. Systems include Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC. Start date immediate.

The coder will work on inpatient and outpatient accounts, ensure accurate coding, and stay current with guidelines while collaborating with staff and management.

Qualifications

• IP PCS coding experience 5+ years required.
• OP coding experience 3+ years preferred.
• CCS certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Examine medical records to determine principal & secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Sequence diagnoses & procedures with ~95% accuracy.
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments with computer systems.
• Maintain steady productivity and quality while performing duties.
• Escalate for information when needed; contact staff/leadership.
• Keep current with coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues.
• Complete assignments per management instructions.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Collaborate as a team to meet department/client goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
