Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a remote, full-time role. The coder will handle IP and OP accounts, ensuring accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG assignments according to current guidelines.

Qualifications include at least 5 years IP PCS coding, CCS certification, and experience with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, or EPIC. Start date is immediate; test will be administered as part of screening, with weekday, day-shift hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification required.
• Experience coding inpatient and outpatient records.
• Familiarity with DRG assignment.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to maintain high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with system assistance.
• Maintain productivity and quality at a steady level.
• Escalate when information is insufficient for accurate coding.
• Keep current with coding guidelines and share updates.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education.
• Collaborate as part of a team to meet client goals.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
