Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification is required.
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient coding highly preferred.
• Ability to stay current with coding guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal & secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures with high-quality accuracy.
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments using coding system tools.
• Maintain consistent productivity and coding quality.
• Escalate when additional information is needed for accurate codes/DRGs.
• Keep up-to-date with coding literature and share knowledge with team.
• Complete assignments as directed by management and be reliable.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
