Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking an Inpatient II Coder with 2–5 years of inpatient hospital coding experience. This remote role requires CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include data abstraction, coding accuracy, and DRG assignment, with collaboration across CDI, HIM operations, and other departments to ensure integrity of medical records and compliance.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years inpatient hospital coding experience
• CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification required

Responsibilities

• Accurately abstracts data elements as required
• Stays current of changes in coding conventions and guidelines
• Reviews and analyzes patient encounters for compliant coding
• Assigns codes accurately and promptly for DRG determination
• Collaborates with leadership and other departments to ensure record integrity
