Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience coding for billing.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P or CPC/COC/CIC).

Responsibilities

• Maintains timely coding and completion of patient accounts to meet standards and goals.
• Ensures accuracy in accordance with department and regulatory standards.
• Monitors uncoded accounts and workflows to optimize revenue cycle performance.
• Collaborates with clinical staff to improve documentation for medical necessity and claims submission.
• Completes all mandated education prior to deadlines.
• Supports continuing education of the coding profession and the team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
