Job summary

Sacbar is seeking an experienced Inpatient Facility Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes from medical records. This role ensures accurate coding for inpatient and selected outpatient encounters while supporting compliant reimbursement.

The candidate should have 5 years of acute care coding experience and professional certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC or CIC/COC. Knowledge of 3M 360, CAC, and Epic is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year college or technical school curriculum in Health Information Management or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of acute care hospital coding experience required.
• Licensure or Certification: RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CIC/COC.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures from medical records.
• Code inpatient or outpatient records; for outpatient, independently code at least four specified areas.
• Follow coding guidelines to ensure accuracy; use 3M 360, CAC, Epic for coding tasks.
