Job summary

Stryker Corporation is seeking an experienced Inpatient Facility Coder to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes based on chart documentation. The coder will work with 3M 360, CAC, and Epic to ensure proper coding and reimbursement for inpatient and some outpatient records.

Required are five years of acute care coding experience and professional credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CIC, or COC.

Qualifications

• Completion of a health information management program or equivalent experience.
• Five (5) years of acute care hospital coding experience required.
• RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CIC/COC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns correct ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes per documentation.
• Codes inpatient or outpatient records per guidelines.
• Uses 3M 360, CAC, Epic and related tools for accurate coding.
• Requests provider clarification when information is incomplete.
• Ensures proper UHDDS sequencing and DRG/APC reimbursement considerations.
• Maintains a minimum 95% coding accuracy and productivity targets.
• Reviews payer returns and supports coding staff with questions.
