Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Florida is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a fully remote Florida-based role. The candidate will code inpatient records with ICD-10-CM/PCS, maintain high accuracy, and support audits.

Requirements include RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification and an Associates degree in Health Information Management or coding. Proficiency in Epic and 3M 360 Encompass is essential, with ongoing continuing education expected.

Qualifications

• 2 years of coding ICD-10-CM/PCS experience.
• Proficient in Epic and 3M 360 Encompass encoder.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
• Associates degree in Health Information Management or Coding program.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient charts using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS with high accuracy.
• Assign DRG, SOI, ROM with accurate POA and codes.
• Abstract clinical data and ensure documentation supports codes.
• Write physician queries as needed and maintain audit readiness.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and attend ongoing education.
