Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for an Inpatient Coding Operations role within the Coding Production Operations department. This remote, full-time position focuses on inpatient coding across multiple service lines with accountability for high accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA), an associate degree in health information management, and 7 years of inpatient coding experience in acute care. Telework is supported for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding experience in acute care
• Advanced proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS
• Coding certifications required (AAPC or AHIMA)
• Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate codes
• Ensure coding aligns with Official Coding Guidelines and regulations
• Code high dollar and long length of stay cases
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to match DRG
• Support clinical teams with coding guidance and updates
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records
• Meet quality and productivity standards and deadlines
